Jazzy jam sessions make for FABulous Fridays, and that’s what we have on tap for the late summer / early fall season on Fulton Street! Once again, we’ve collaborated with nearby Brooklyn Music School for a multi-date outdoor music series in Fort Greene we’re sure jazz lovers of all ages will enjoy.
Happy hour will swing with musicians from the neighborhood institution, who moonlight as faculty and department heads during the day! And if you can hang, bring your own instrument and jam along with them!
Bassist/composer/educator Leon Boykins is an established figure in the next generation of creative musicians, and has developed a reputation for tastefully blending musical tradition with innovation. Leon has shared the stage with many musical greats while also placing a large emphasis on education; his list of awards include various scholarships from the Manhattan School of Music and Temple University, as well as an outstanding soloist award from Down Beat Magazine. Kick off your weekend with a soulful performance at Fowler Square!
