Washington Square Music Festival

The Washington Square Music Festival offers a season of classical and jazz, contemporary and Baroque, both familiar and surprising.

Music Director Lutz Rath has announced the 58th season of the Washington Square Music Festival, taking place Tuesdays in June on the Main Stage in the center of Washington Square Park.  All four concerts are free.  The Festival is under the auspices of the Washington Square Association, Inc. Seating is first come, first served.

On the program, June 14:

Festival Chamber Ensemble, conducted by Lutz Rath

  • Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Serenata notturna in D, k 239 for strings and timpani
  • Arvo Pärt:  “Fratres” for strings and percussion
  • George Frederic Handel: Dixit Dominus, Canticum Scholare, choir
