Lead by Garifuna Dancer/Singer/Composer Felix Gamboa Valentin, The Garifuna International Band (also known as International Garifuna Band) is pure energy, encapsulating the music, dance, and culture of Africa, the Caribbean and Central America. The band plays all rhythms of Garifuna music: Punta, Punta Rock, Paranda, Cumbia, Sambey and Wanaragua, along with the respective dances.
Their members include lead vocalist Felix Gamboa; percussionist Chocola Alvarez; Chente Avila on maracas and background vocals; Elmer Norales on turtle shells and vocals; band leader Roy Martinez & Fakidi on keyboards; drummer Jose “Peche” Ballesteros; Baba on bass; Kiké Guity on congas, and Miriam Suazo dancer.
