Patti LaBelle

Beautiful simply does not describe the incomparable force known to the world as Patti LaBelle. The soulful songbird’s name has become synonymous with grace, style, elegance, and class. Belting out classic rhythm and blues renditions, pop standards, and spiritual sonnets has created the unique platform of versatility that she is known and revered for.

“Powerhouse vocalist Patti LaBelle has been an R&B musical icon for so long (55 years since her debut single) that, even when she’s veered into other entertainment territories and business opportunities, they have soul.” – Variety

The same motivation that helped Patricia Louise Holte blossom from a choir member to lead vocalist for Patti LaBelle & The Bluebelles to a solo artist keeps her fire burning at seventy-four years young. In addition to her music career, she has written six books and in 2017 debuted her cooking show Patti LaBelle’s Place. She also remains an advocate for many non-profit initiatives–adoption, diabetes, cancer, HIV / AIDS, to name a few.

“Each year I grow, and that’s a blessing from God. I do what I can do. I do what I feel God has given me the energy to do, so I just go out there and I do it … It’s not about making money because I don’t need money, but I need to sing. With a voice or without, I’ve got to get on that stage.” We are thankful that Patti is still doing her thing and thrilled that she will help us kick off the 2019 season of the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival with an epic free concert!

The concert featuring Patti LaBelle will also be a part of our Opening Night REVEL fundraising event. For more information, click here.
