LC Kids Artists at the Atrium: Mariachi Flor De Toloache

Mariachi is an important part of Mexican folk culture, known for its vivid vocals, driving string rhythms, and soaring trumpet melodies. New York’s first all-female mariachi band and one of the city’s most exciting new bands, Mariachi Flor de Toloache celebrates the traditions of this folk form from around the world while creating a style all their own. Mariachi Flor de Toloache takes pride in choosing material from the traditional mariachi playbook but also uses other musical influences within their work. Their original songs and new arrangements reflect the influence of salsa, cumbia, gypsy music, and Latin jazz as well as pop, hip-hop, and even soul music.

Recommended for ages 3–6. This performance is FREE and open to the public. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Major support for Artists at the Atrium is provided by Betty and John Levin.
