La Maquina Insular

Join us for a special concert of Bomba and Plena, straight from the island. Visiting from Puerto Rico, La Maquina Insular is a side project of the celebrated group Viento de Agua, putting a contemporary spin on traditional Afro-Puerto Rican percussion and vocal styles. Bandleader Hector “Tito” Matos has recorded and toured with Eddie Palmieri, David Sánchez, Miguel Zenón, Ricky Martin, and Gloria Estefan and performed at prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center. The group will be joined by Juango Gutierrez from the well-loved NYC ensemble Los Pleneros de la 21.

Please note: The event is free but space is limited so please let us know if you are coming. Register here
