Rising Broadway star Joaquina Kalukango will be making her Culture Connection encore with ASCAP award-winner Charles Duke as Music Director.
Joaquina has appeared most recently in the Broadway revivals of The Color Purple and Godspell, the Encores! Wild Party, on Broadway in Holler If Ya Hear Me, and Off-Broadway in Our Lady of Kibeho (Signature), Antony and Cleopatra (The Public Theater and Royal Shakespeare Company), Emotional Creature(Signature and Berkeley Rep), Hurt Village (Signature, Theatre World Award, Drama Desk Award nomination) and Rent (NWS). Joaquina is a Juilliard graduate.
Charles Duke is a singer, songwriter, composer and classically trained pianist residing in Harlem, NY. His work fuses jazz, soul, pop, and classical music elements with engaging lyrical imagery. As a pianist he is regularly engaged at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel and Robert Restaurant at Columbus Circle and has performed regularly at The Plaza Hotel and the Off-Broadway hit musical Sleep No More. Additionally, he performs private events and galas throughout Manhattan.
