Ginuwine, Boogie Blind

Multi-platinum crooner remains the Same OG delivering sexy R&B classics

Ginuwine

Elgin Baylor Lumpkin is a genuine gift. Named after the LA Laker legend, he took the stage name Ginuwine to signify his authentic sound and earnest style. He began his hardy career as a Swing Mob member, with fellow nascent performers Missy Elliot and Timbaland. He would later go on to collaborate with them on several efforts throughout the 90’s. His first album Ginuwine…The Bachelor contained the explosive hit “Pony,” written by Static Major (another Swing Mob alum) and produced by Timbaland, which ascended to #6 on the Billboard Hot 100. Ginuwine’s sophomore release, 1999’s 100% Ginuwine, further showcased his silky voice and sultry R&B sensibilities. His 2001 smash single “Differences” climbed even higher on the Billboard 100, to #4, and reached the top spot on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart. Ginuwine made several other massively successful albums over the years and eventually formed the group TGT with Tank and Tyrese (they collectively released Three Kings in 2013). Today, Ginuwine continues to perform with panache, his voice the epitome of smooth. With numerous endorsement deals and television and film performances to his celebrity, Ginuwine has reached icon status.

Boogie Blind

The New York native, dubbed “International Boogie Blind” by the DJs of Beatminerz Radio, produces original music, tours the world year-round and lends his signature scratches to records for recording artists who require his expertise during the mixing process. Blind, who was inspired by an uncle that deejayed during his childhood, eventually met and was taken under the wing of turntabalist legend Roc Raida of the X-Ecutioners. As part of the X-Men, Blind learned to execute the expert tricks and scratches now synonymous with his name. He is very varied in not only his technical capabilities, but in his ability to read the crowd, consistently keeping his thumb on the pulse of their rhythms. Boogie can slay a crowd of Swedish club kids with the best in techno, zip off to Australia to lay the smack down for MTV Garage, rock the revelers at MTV’s Fashionably Loud then return to his NYC home and wow turnablist crowds with his award-winning scratch and battle talents. He lives for every minute of it, stating “I am literally living the dream that I had as a kid.”IO
