Stop by the David Rubenstein Atrium during the 16th Annual Winter’s Eve at Lincoln Square tree-lighting street party for a high-energy performance by the New York-based band Chop and Quench. Comprised of members of the cast and band of FELA! the musical, the band has traveled around the world performing classic renditions of Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti’s famous compositions as well as their own original music.
They have performed with Beyoncé, Femi Kuti, and Angélique Kidjo and recently performed at the Sundance Film Festival in conjunction with the premier of Alex Gibney’s film Finding Fela. They are now back home in New York preparing new material to take into the studio for their first recording since the Fela! Broadway cast recording.
