While the soul of the master is manifest in the project, the music stretches out into otherworldly territory, becoming “whatever it was Davis intended in 1969: spacious, black-magic stealth funk.” (NY Times) The night begins with the virtuosic Mike Stern, one of the premier jazz-fusion guitarists of his generation and a veteran of Davis’ band.
