2009 was the eighth year for the River to River Festival. The River to River Festival takes place in lower Manhattan in various locations and venues like the South Street Seaport, World Financial Center Winter Gardens, Battery Park, and Rockefeller Park. The Bang on a Can Marathon launched the festival this past year with it’s world class musical talent. Throughout the Summer the festival followed up with memorable performances by King Britt, Conor Oberst and Jenny Lewis, Arlo Guthrie, Richie Havens, Frankie Negrón, Anthony Gonzalez (of M83), New York City Opera Company, and all of the great bands that performed at the Seaport Music Festival.
