Lincoln Center and the Independent Music Awards present an evening of performances by two 2014 IMA winners: Rabbit Rabbit and Rocket & The Ghost.

Hailing from Woods Hole, Massachusetts, husband and wife team Rabbit Rabbit is vocalist/violinist Carla Kihlstedt and multi-instrumentalist Matthias Bossi. Drawing influence from art and folk song as well as improvised and industrial music, the duo spins balladry both structurally sparse and emotionally rich. Brooklyn based indie rockers Rocket & The Ghost name Elvis, The Beatles, Tom Waits, Lou Reed, and The Pixies as among their numerous influences. Winners of the 2014 Independent Music Award for Love Song, the quintet raised the money for their first LP by saving. They feel if the money is “never recouped, it will still be worth it.” Rocket & The Ghost is Kiyoshi Matsuyama (vocals, guitar), Brian Kesley (bass), Stuart Bidwell (drums), Sean Gavigan (guitars), and Lily Claire (vocals and keyboards).
