Master multi-instrumentalist Dawoud (formerly of Renegade Sufi) leads this adventurous sitar-based ensemble, which expands upon classical raga with otherworldly electronics, hypnotic pedal loops, and free jazz improvisation. Dawoud—who has performed and recorded with artists like Lauryn Hill, James Blood Ulmer, and Nona Hendryx—moves between sitar, dilruba, guitar, bass, laptop, and more to create deep, trancelike grooves and subtly psychedelic soundscapes.
