Fusilier

Someone once asked Blake Fusilier, “You’re black and gay. How does it feel to have two things wrong with you?” As a teenager in Atlanta, Fusilier grew up feeling different. While his neighbors aspired to rep their neighborhoods and sign to hot local labels like LaFace and SoSoDef, Blake brooded over the stories of Edgar Allen Poe, picked up the violin, and hoped to play as well as Itzhak Perlman. Moving to Boston for college, he picked up a guitar and joined a moody rock band. Now based in Brooklyn, Fusilier makes music that unifies these sound worlds into something utterly his own.
