Culture Connection 5 Year Anniversary Celebration: “Give My Regards to Broadway

This special Culture Connection Anniversary Celebration will take you on a journey through a century of theater music. Alicia Krakauer will perform songs from each decade from the Jazz Age of the 1920s to present day with enough variety to guarantee something for everyone in attendance. She will sing standards that we all know and love and a few lesser known gems too. Song styles will range from classic to jazzy to contemporary; moods will range from heartbreak to hope and joy. The masters of American musical theater will all be brought to life by Alicia: Irving Berlin, Rogers and Hart, Rogers and Hammerstein, and Stephen Sondheim, not to mention a few surprises.

Alicia Krakauer, a born and bred New Yorker, is an actor and singer/songwriter. She holds a BFA from Syracuse University, and an MA from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London, both in musical theatre. Alicia has played a variety of roles including Bunny Byron in ‘Babes in Arms’, Lilli Vanessi in ‘Kiss Me Kate’, Lenny in ‘Crimes of the Heart’ and most recently worked with The Barnstormers Theatre in The Producers.

Alicia has performed in concerts and cabarets all around New York City including Culture Connection/Queens Library, 54 Below, Green Room 42, the Duplex, the Triad, Don’t Tell Mama, the Metropolitan Room and The Hippodrome in London. She has a huge passion for new writing and is the Co-Founder/Co-Producer of the NEXT concert series both in NY and the UK. NEXT is a concert series dedicated to showcasing new writers and has produced concerts in NYC, London, and Edinburgh for over 8 years. This is Alicia’s third time performing with Culture Connection and she is thrilled to return for this special Five Year Anniversary Celebration.
