Carnegie Hall Citywide: Catalyst Quartet

Hear works by African American and African English composers performed by the Catalyst Quartet, an ensemble known for its commitment to diversity and education. Price’s Five Folksongs in Counterpoint span the warmly Romantic to homespun Americana, while her quartet’s rich harmonies and breathlessly beautiful slow movement are stunning. There’s also Coleridge-Taylor’s Fantasiestücke, a superb set of expressive character pieces, each with its own style and tone.
