Ana Tijoux, L’Unicorns, DJ Shame

Ana Tijoux is a French-Chilean pop singer and rapper with a long history of championing social justice and nonviolence. She first started rapping and dancing at 11 years old, and did stints in the groups Los Tetas and Makiza before setting off on her own in 2006 with the single “Ya No Fue.” In 2009 she embraced hip-hop with her Grammy-nominated breakout LP 1977, which drew comparisons to DJ Premier’s work with Jeru the Damaja.
