All summer long, outdoor events at The Dance Floor invite New Yorkers to join in on the fun with pre-show dance tutorials from professional instructors leading up to a free, live dance party under a 10-foot disco ball. Based in Spain, Lucrecia is a Cuban-Spanish singer, songwriter, and piano player known for performances of traditional and contemporary Cuban music. An Oscar and Emmy nominee and Grammy and Latin Grammy Award winner, Lucrecia began her career as a backup singer for Cuban artists including Celia Cruz and Willy Chirino, later becoming a popular solo artist in her own right. Lucrecia will perform with 8 y Más, led by veteran New York-based Salsa musicians Bobby Allende and Marc Quiñones–two of the most sought-after musicians in the world of Latin music. The renowned Talia Castro-Pozo returns as our dynamic dance instructor.
