In a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal (Subscribers only), City Parks Foundation Executive Director Heather Lubov had disclosed her plans to renovate Summerstage’s home in Central Park and to expand programming to include indoor and outdoor events for the entire year.
From City Parks Foundation’s January Newsletter:
In January we kicked off a series of indoor Preview Concerts, giving fans a peek into the upcoming SummerStage season. These shows will continue monthly until the full schedule is announced in April 2016. On February 19, SummerStage fans can catch celebrated bandleader and trumpeter Igmar Thomas and the Revive Big Band at the Highline Ballroom. And on March 20, fans of The Voice won’t want to miss Kimberly Nichole, celebrating the music of Sister Rosetta Tharpe at Subrosa. Tickets for these shows are on sale now.
