The Metropolitan Opera’s principal conductor Fabio Luisi is heading to a new post as the musical director at Florence’s Opera di Firenze and the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino reports Opera News.

The position of music director is a new position at the Opera di Firenze created especially for Genoa native Fabio Luisi.
