In June 2015 the New York Philharmonic will mark the 50th anniversary of the Concerts in the Parks, the iconic series of free outdoor performances that have been enjoyed by more than 14 million concertgoers since 1965. In the run-up to the five free performances throughout the boroughs of New York City, June 17–24, 2015, there will be activities including Crowdsourcing Memories: 50 Years of the Philharmonic in New York City’s Parks, through which the public will help create the next-generation archive of their personal experiences of priceless music, absolutely free.
