Jazz alto sax legend Lou Donaldson has enjoyed a stellar career as a performer, bandleader and composer which has spanned over six decades. Like many young saxophonists in the 1940s, he was very influenced by Charlie Parker. In the 1950s Mr. Donaldson hit his stride performing and recording with jazz greats such as Thelonious Monk, Milt Jackson, Clifford Brown, Miles Davis, Jimmy Smith, Horace Silver, Blue Mitchell and Art Blakey.
